Promoting cycling

Farcycles is committed to improving the cycling experience in and around Faringdon. One of the reasons that people give for not cycling is the lack of protected paths and routes.

Some years ago we devised a network of routes to link important places in the town, for example Health Centre, Schools, Folly Sports Ground, Town Centre. See here.

This work is supported by Section 106 money, which is funding from one of the housing estates.

Very soon we expect to have signs in place showing these routes, and we expect this to encourage more cycling in our town (and a little less reliance on the car, reducing congestion and pollution).
