Rims like this would mean we'd have to reject the bike. Interestingly, it is quite easy for us to remove levels of rust like this. We would accept a bike with bars in this condition. This is very low levels of rust and is acceptable. We would be forced to reject a bike with rust levels on the handlebars like this. Unfortunately, we would not accept a bike with this level of rust on its frame. We would regard this as a minor amount of rust and would accept the bike as a donation. We would be forced to reject a bike in this condition. There is waaayyyy to much rust on this and the bike would need to be stripped and re-sprayed. This is not something we are able to do. The bike is beyond rescuing by the team in our shop and we'd be forced to reject the bike. This level of rust on the stanchions of a bike would be acceptable as we would be able to remove this.
